So far in 2026, the SOAR Los Angeles Chapter has funded:
1. Easter celebrations for the children at SOS Children's Villages* ($500)

2. A removable orthodontic appliance for the upper jaw for 10 year-old Rafael Gabrielayan of Sisters of Charity, Bethlehem*. He will need to use for approximately 1 to 1.5 years. This treatment is essential, as it will help expand his upper jaw, improve his breathing, and, hopefully, enhance the clarity of his speech. ($700)

* SOS Children’s Villages’ Armenian Charity Foundation (Idjevan and Kotayk) is a child-centered organization whose core mission is to provide care and development for children without parental care and children in difficult life circumstances. In 1990, SOS Children’s Village in Kotayk opened its doors for children who had lost their parents in the earthquake. SOS Children’s Village in Idjevan was founded in 2009. The children from the recently closed Gavar Orphanage are also residing at the Village.
* Sisters of Charity, Bethlehem is a Catholic religious order established by Mother Teresa to tend to “the poorest of the poor.” SOC-Bethlehem is a private orphanage outside of Yerevan that houses very young children with severe physical and mental disabilities.
