Arlet Jaklin Hahamyan, 86, of Nashville, TN went to be with the Lord on December 28th 2023, surrounded by her family.

Jaklin (she always loved and went by her middle name), born on March 30th, 1937 to Ojeni & Levon Nalbantyan in Istanbul, Turkey, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Jaklin graduated from Notre Dame de Sion as an honor student.

In 1959, she met Dr. Levon Hahamyan and the two fell in love. Jaklin and Levon had one son, Arnold.

In 1980, Jaklin immigrated to the United States with her son to provide him a better life and future.

Jaklin was a fiercely dedicated mom to her son. She sacrificed her well-being for him time and time again throughout her life. Family came first and was above all else to Jaklin, a value she instilled in all those around her. She was a very giving and selfless person. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

She entered, on December 28, 2023, into the visible and radiant presence of our God. Her strong Christian faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior brought forth its result - salvation. In the presence of her Savior, she was given eternal life and the heavenly body God had designed for her.

The Bible says, “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (I John 5:11-12) It is only by faith in Jesus Christ that we can rejoice even over our loved one’s death. Without Jesus, death robs of life. Through Jesus, death has no hold on us and we slip right through its grasp into eternal life! I truly thank God for the victory that my Mother has — through the gift of faith that God gave her! “Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Cor. 15:57)

Jaklin was predeceased by her parents Ojeni and Levon and her brother, Migirdic. She is survived by her son, Arnold, his wife, Anna, and her grandchildren, Henrik and Jacqueline.
