Norayr had his surgery and is recovering!

UPDATE JULY 7, 2023

Norayr is in the US and his surgery is scheduled for TODAY!

 

Now 4, Garik and Lianna's son, Norayr, was born at 28 weeks and weighed only 3 lbs. at birth. His twin did not survive. Norayr was in intensive care for two months. At age 2, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and spastic tetraparesis. He is barely able to sit or walk by himself due to spasticity in his body. Dr. T.S. Park at St. Louis Children's Hospital has recommended selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR), which will remove the spasticity permanently. SDR is a surgical procedure performed on the lower spine to reduce or eliminate spasticity (involuntary muscle contractions and stiffness) in the legs of children who have one of the spastic forms of cerebral palsy.

 

The outstanding balance to schedule the surgery is $44,173.57. The family will also need assistance with traveling expenses and local accommodations. We are estimating a total of $55,000 to pay for the surgery and all necessary expenses. *** UPDATE-The family has raised all the funds needed except for $10,770 for the orthopedic surgery! ***

Garik is the sole provider of the family and does not have the money to get this life altering procedure for Norayr.
