Family Situation: Armenian hero Karen was 44 when he lost his life in Martuni while saving the life of a young soldier, age 18. Karen also served in Askeran, Hadrut, and Jabrayil. He leaves behind a wife and three sons (ages 18, 15, and 13). The Grigoryan family lives in Tandzut, Armavir, in the home of the wife's uncle, and all three sons are students at the village school. His wife is employed at a medical center but has already had to sell their cattle for income. The oldest son graduated this year and dreams of becoming a lawyer. The middle son has been taking private classes in math and history, and the youngest son is in 6th grade and wants to take private classes in German. They all have professional aspirations and hope to purchase a home for their mother, to ease her burden.
