GAYANE HOVHANNISYAN - Sponsor Now

GAYANE HOVHANNISYAN

Institution Our Lady of Armenia Annie Bezikian Youth Center (Armenia)

Age 24

Gender: Female

Date of Birth: 1999-12-24

Family History: Gayane has a very sad story. She was born with deformed hands, and her father told the mother that she only had a few days to live. After the mother was released from the hospital, Gayane was moved to Children’s Home of Gyumri because of her physical disability. Both hands have been lengthened surgically over the years, with a 5th finger added to a hand that only had four fingers. She had multiple in surgeries in Germany, both before and after moving to Mari Izmirlyan Orphanage in 2010. She had her last surgery at the age of 16. She was always interested in meeting/seeing her parents, so MI helped her find them. Unfortunately, she was disappointed after meeting them, as she found the orphanage staff warmer and better than her parents. Later she refused to see her parents. She prefers to be adopted by anyone than to have contact with her parents.

Special Interests: Despite her hand issues, Gayane has superior artistic talent, and is extremely intelligent.

Immediate Needs: Sponsorship funds for Gayane will be used for her college tuition, books, supplies, and transportation expenses as she continues her graduate studies at Yerevan Polytechnic University.
