Special Interests: Gayane has a mother’s heart, which is evident at WH because she is very nurturing. She cares for others and always makes sure that everyone and everything is “on track.” She helps other residents with their laundry and cares for her friends when they are sick, bringing them tea and sweet candies. She is passionate about caring for people, embroidery, and gardening. Gayane makes beautiful hand-crafts, including carpets. Gayane loves to spend time outside, especially in the month of May, when the trees have budded and the mountains are carpeted with green.

Immediate Needs: Gayane is in need of sponsorship funds to provide for her care, medical needs, therapy, food, clothing, and to support further development of vocational skills and integration in the community.

UPDATE - 07/2023

Gayane continues to make pastries on her own and dreams of becoming a pastry chef.  She continues to take carpet weaving, pottery, needlework, and computer groups. She also participates in the program to learn to use public transportation, go shopping by herself, communicate with strangers, and get to know the streets of Yerevan better. Her birthday is her favorite time of the year and she loves being able to celebrate it!

UPDATE - 08/2022

Gayane learned how to make pastries on her own. She made and sold her eclairs at new Years and was very excited to make her own money. Gayane dreams of working in a pastry shop. She continues to take carpet weaving and sewing classes, also learning how to use a sewing machine. For her birthday she was able to buy a phone. She learned how to make calls, play songs and listen with headphones.
